Angré Port is a state-of-the-art cargo terminal located on India's western coast, situated halfway between Mumbai and Goa, close to Ratnagiri. The port is well equipped to handle your end to end logistics needs, from origin to destination, for all kinds of containers, dry bulk, and liquid cargo. With a draft of 11 m, Angré Port is well equipped to handle vessels of up to 55,000 DWT including Supramax vessels.

Kanhoji Angré:
India’s first naval commander

Kanhoji Angré stands apart as the first important Naval figure in modern Indian history. An military strategist par excellence, for three decades, Angré managed to maintain control of over a large part of the west coast of India, despite having a fleet that largely comprised of retro fitted fishing boats. With Angré at the head of their Navy, the Maratha Empire was able to fend off challenges from the leading powers of the day: the British, the Portuguese, and the Mughals, for all of whom the Konkan coastline was a critical element of their trade routes. For the Maratha Navy, Angré developed dockyard facilities to build an armada of 10 grabs of 400 tonnes and 50 gallivants of 120 tonnes.
